About rocco

Nicholas Rocco DeFinis is an American singer, dancer, songwriter, and activist born August 7th 1986 in Lansdale, PA to Joanne McGlinchey, and Robert J. DeFinis. He almost exclusively goes by his middle name, Rocco , as a tribute to his late grandfather "Rocky" N. DeFinis who was a major influence in his early life.

Rocco is no newbie to the stage or the spotlight. He grew up performing, from before the time he could walk. His passions grew from choreography and stepping to dancing in night clubs, incidentally drawing crowds and fans. In 2009 Rocco competed in the Mr. Gay Philadelphia competition and won the title Mr. Gay Congeniality Philadelphia. Two years later he went on to Mr. Gay Philadelphia Runner Up.

Soon after, Rocco released his very first dance single "Give'em What They Want" inspired by his time dance battling at various Night Clubs in Philly's very own "Gayborhood". The track had tremendous local buzz and helped inspire Rocco to spread his wings and take creative risks.

In 2014 Rocco made his Off Broadway debut as "Frankie" in My Big Gay Italian Wedding, later making an appearance in My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis Off Broadway.

Rocco is currently hard at work writing and recording his Freshman Album "Victory of the People", with Grammy Award Winning producer James Cravero of East Coast Recording. In spring 2018 Rocco will be releasing his first single off the album titled "READ".
